Cats are ungovernable. Even the most well-behaved of felines do what they want. But cat lovers tend to find the funny in the unruly ways of cats. Lucky for us, social media is there to share in the silliness. And to our delight, one Twitter user recently put out a call for photo proof of cats being ungovernable, because as @ellle_em explained in their tweet, not only are cats ungovernable, they’re pretty purroud of their rebellious ways.

And it seems the Twittersphere agreed! After the call for ungovernable cat photos, @elle_em was rewarded with a thread of cats doing what they do best…ignoring the rules!

Ungovernable Cats

@ellle_em loves cats. So much, in fact, they spend their days and nights caring for the cats of Spain who find themselves in need. And as someone who spends so much time with cats, Elle Em knows the ungovernable truth of kitties. They also know photos of cats acting unruly are pure gold and cashed in on cuteness by asking social media for pics of their cats acting out!

“You know what I love about cats?” tweeted Elle Em. “I love that cats are UNGOVERNABLE and are not ashamed of displaying this all the time.”

From the replies to @ellle_em’s tweet, here are some of the most ungovernable of felines!

Completely ungovernable.

Sylvie does what she wants.

No space is off-limits to cat paws.

The ungovernable give hisses, not kisses.

Anyone with a cat for a sibling knows the feline dictates the sleeping arrangements.

Clancy is picky about his mom’s hair.

An ungovernable goblin.

That face speaks volumes.

Oh, Romeo, why art though so ungovernable?

Yowling the song of those who won’t be governed!

Cup water just tastes better.

Sweet, satisfying destruction.

His power for mischief makes Merlin magical!

Roberta’s humans have it right!

Absolute purrfection.

She said, “I sit where I want.

Another ungovernable one sitting where she wants.

Just getting a little exercise.

So, now that you’ve seen the evidence, can you safely say your cat is ungovernable, too?
