Food insecurity is a huge problem in America. Statistics reveal that 44 million Americans, from child to adult, are food insecure. Another startling number? One hundred percent of counties across our fifty states report hungry citizens, meaning hunger touches every corner of the country. And it’s not just people who struggle to eat. Their pets do, too. With roughly two-thirds of U.S. homes having cats and dogs, many families struggle to provide regular meals for their furry ones and often turn to sharing human food with their pets.

But thanks to you, families can stay together and provide their kitties and doggies with the balanced pet food they need. When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities, we ensure shelter cats receive food and other necessities while waiting for their forever home.

Good Work Keeps Families Together

To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals! But it’s not just about the food. GOODS makes sure cats and dogs remain with the families who love them. And as a recipient of these donations, the Gilmer Community Food Pantry is so thankful to be part of keeping families together.

The Gilmer Food Pantry is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to relieving the stress and burdens of food insecurity in their Georgia community. In 2023, the pantry served more than 400 families, ensuring that both people and their precious pets could eat. The GOODS program is a vital part of their operation.

“The GOODS Program keeps low-income families from surrendering or abandoning their pets,” explains the Gilmer Community Food Pantry.

And though GOODS is doing the heavy lifting, delivering all those cans and sacks of food, you’re funding it with your great taste. So, keep shopping to keep making a difference to families in need.
