Greetings, my pawsome cat cohorts.

It’s your old friend Forrest here, and today, we’re leaving our parents out of the loop. Why? Because it’s April Fools’ Day, and I want to teach you some surefire pranks to get your parents back for every nap they’ve ever woken you from and every empty food bowl they’ve forgotten about.

They may suspect we like to get mischievous and mess with them, but our humans can’t quite be sure if you’re just being feline or if you’re out to get them. So, use this to your advantage and pull some fast ones on your people on this day of tomfoolery.

Here are some easy pranks you can pull on your parents this April Fools’ Day!

Sleepy-time Shenanigans

So, this prank will be funny and gets back at your parents for waking you from your slumber. Whether a nap or while they’re snoozing for the night, at some point, human toes always find their way out from beneath blankets or maybe a foot dangles off the end of the couch. All you have to do? Give those toes the barest of furry touches, and watch the human fly! Hahaha, this gets my dad all the time. Catnip and crackers, does he scream when he thinks somebody’s got him!

Creepy-Crawly Clowning

Want to watch your parents hop around like a goof? Drop a bug in their chair! This one is easy as insects can be hunted down both inside and out. It’s another prank that elicits shrills of alarm from people, so get ready for the drama when they see a wee, little bug in their space. You can choose whether the bug is alive or dead. I find living bugs preferable for the added hysterics of slapping at the crawling creature!

Hack-up Hijinks

This one is gross but a perfect way to get back at your mom or dad for dressing you in bowties or onesies. Yes, we look good in anything we wear, but sometimes, you’ve just gotta get even. So, next time you’re in whatever getup your parents think is too precious, simply throw up.

By the time you start the gag show, it will be too late for them to undress you. Let that half-digested kibble go, and be sure to get it on the outfit and, if possible, your mom’s feet. They may not laugh, but you sure will.

If you can’t vomit, then go for hacking up a hairball. Pretty effective, too.

Food Bowl Follies

This one will really mess with them, but it’s going to take some hard discipline on your part. When your dad makes your breakfast, pretend you don’t want it!  Hard, I know, but the confusion this will cause is worth it. This prank takes timing, too; just as he goes to take away the dish, dive in and start eating as your way of saying, “Fooled you!”

And speaking of food, remind your human…don’t forget to feed the cat.
