Cats enjoy getting in the middle of their human’s business. Even before the country started staying home to help slow the spread of the coronavirus, cats were plopping down on top of whatever their families were doing.

But with everyone working from home, the cats of the world are taking advantage of their humans being around 24/7. And while kitties are demanding of attention and good at decreasing productivity, cats still make better coworkers than humans. And what’s funny, usually those same reasons we find ourselves annoyed at human coworkers are the reasons we love working with our cats.

Here’s 7 reasons why cats make better coworkers than humans.

1. Folks getting in your personal space at work is not fun, but a feline coworker is welcome to invade your space. And while it may be a hassle, its super cute when they commandeer our documents and keyboards too.

Miso’s mom agrees, reporting, “Miso has been on my lap purring away for 20 minutes. Not the worst coworker.”

Cats enjoy a warm computer keyboard because there, in the glow of the screen, they hatch ideas on how best to be cute. Just like this handsome Abyssinian lad…

And for reasons unknown to us, sprawling all over paper is a great work activity for a cat.

2. If your human coworker just stares at you constantly, it’s creepy. When your cat coworker stares at you, it’s adorable. And a coworker like Lucille can stare all she likes…

3. A human coworker stealing your food is not acceptable. But sharing snacks with a cat is welcome, sometimes…

For example, Oatmeal and Deet enjoy sharing breakfast with their human coworkers, whether their humans like it or not! Seems the pair approves…

4. The constant chatter of that one coworker who never stops can grate the ears, but a cat coworker’s voice is music to the ears, even when we’re not sure what the cat wants…

5. There’s always drama in the human work world, but the antics of an at-home cat coworker are the purrfect kind of dramatics because they’re just too cute to look away from…

6. You can’t snuggle your human coworkers, but you sure can cuddle with your cat. And Nina loves to snuggle her hard-working dad…

7. And the best reason why a cat coworker is better than a human coworker? Your cat is a cat, simple as that.

Cat lovers are perfectly aware that sometimes the reasons cat coworkers are great can be the same as those that make us groan with annoyance. Still, working with your cat is a sweet deal. After all, is there a better soundtrack to the workday than a purring cat?
