Hello, all you giving humans! I’m Forrest Wisewhiskers, a cat with all the answers you need. You’re probably used to reading CattyCorner, my advice column for iHeartCats.com. But today, instead of doling out the innerworkings of the feline mind, I wanted to thank you.
Why, you ask?
Because you shop for cute stuff your cat will love on www.iHeartCats.com, you’re helping feed hungry cats. And this is a huge deal, because cats hate being hungry. So, shop until your heart’s content and get your kitty everything they so desire because your purchase donates money to rescues and shelters working hard to care for cats in need. And this is all possible thanks to a partnership between www.iHeartCats.com and Greater Good Charities.
The Rescue Bank Works for the Greater Good of All
Greater Good Charities focuses on improving not only human lives, but furry ones too! One great way to help animals is keeping them fed and that’s just what the Rescue Bank does. This pet food distribution initiative has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade now. To date, the Rescue Bank has delivered over 275 million meals to shelters and rescues across the country. And with your help, we can make that number grow by funding more of these much-needed donations to shelters and rescues.
Pets Without Parents in Blanchard, Oklahoma is one of the rescue shelters grateful to receive food donations from the Rescue Bank. Because of the food drops, the cat lovers at Pet Without Parents were able to give Oscar De La Kitty a second chance at life. Oscar can’t thank you enough, and so you know how big a difference you made, this thankful kitty enclosed a letter to share.
Oscar De La Kitty’s Letter to You
Hello, my name is Oscar.
I had a happy life for several years. Then something happened. There were lots of HUMANS IN THE HOUSE, all scurrying around, and my guardian was removed. I was left alone for several days and I was very worried. My Stomatitis was flaring up and my mouth and throat were hurting miserably.
Then, all of a sudden, people showed up and they put me into a dirty carrier, placed me in a van, and took me to a “shelter.” I knew in my mind and in my heart that my life as I had known it to be was gone forever. My heart was sad, my brain was very worried, and my mouth and throat were pounding in pain.
Several days passed. Then, I was moved into the “euth” room. I had no idea what that meant, but I knew it was not good for me.
The next morning, three ladies came and started picking out several of us. We were put into a van and away we went. The “rescue shelter” was clean, water and dry food were offered, but my mouth was so sore I could not eat. The ladies were making phone calls and suddenly I heard a loud “yea”…”Oscar is going to Susie”…the transporters were arranged and I had another long road trip to Pet’s Without Parents in Blanchard.
I was in heaven here on earth. Suddenly, I had a clean home, proper medication, and Gerber Baby Meats with cream. I ate until I was about to pop.
After my mouth and throat stopped hurting, I was offered nutritious food every day. I was told it came from my new friends at “Rescue Bank & Greater Good.” They try with all their might to help the animal kingdom all over the country. I am so happy in my new home. I have air conditioning, excellent food, good treatment for my medical issues, and constant love and attention. Who could ask for anything more?
I am truly blessed. I realize that I am one of “the lucky ones.”
Thank you for reading about me.
I wish every animal had happy lives and the love of kind humans like I have found.
Sincerely,
Oscar de la Kitty
