Just a few short weeks ago, this tiny litter of orphaned kittens was fighting for survival.
On July 15, Furry Friends Animal Rescue took in the newborns after they were found abandoned in South Los Angeles with no mother in sight. They were only days old, too young to eat on their own, unable to regulate their body temperature, and completely dependent on someone willing to step in.
Thankfully, a dedicated foster volunteer did exactly that.
From Around-the-Clock Care to Playtime
For the first several days, the kittens needed bottle feedings every two hours, around the clock. Every feeding meant lost sleep for their caregiver, but it also meant another chance to survive. Today, they’re strong enough to eat every four hours, and every day they’re becoming healthier, stronger, and more playful.
The latest update from Furry Friends is exactly the kind of news we love to share:
“The kittens are all gaining weight, are very active and play with each other and try to scale the walls of the container. Soon they’ll be transferred to a playpen. They’re actually fed every four hours now. They’re very vocal and demanding!”
