Sweet kitten Celine learned early in life that not all plans work out, no matter how much you want them to. But she’s also discovered that when one road proves an obstacle, another might just be the path to happily ever after. And now, Celine knows firsthand what a happy ending feels like because you shop with purpose!

Shopping with iHeartCats means getting cute and quality merchandise. But did you know buying that shopping cart full of goodies gives compassion, too? When you shop with iHeartCats, you’re empowering our partnership with Greater Good Charities because every purchase funds meals and other necessities for cats in need.

No Matter How Many Shelter Stays, The Food Is There

The GOODS Program, a pet food distribution initiative in the Greater Good Charities family, has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade. And to date, the GOODS program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues across the country. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals!

These much-appreciated food donations were there for Celine both times she spent time in the care of For the Love of Cats Rescue and Adoption in Walled Lake, Michigan. The second time she came to stay with these loving cat rescuers, Celine and her four siblings were sick kittens born to a feral mom.

“The kittens had upper respiratory infections and eyes crusted shut,” said For the Love of Cats.

Sadly, sick kittens are a common occurrence in the animal rescue world, but this means that shelters, rescues, and foster parents know just how to help suffering babies when they’re snotty and weak. And in Celine’s case, delicious food was a big part of getting her strong enough for adoption.

And adopted she was. But after seven months, it became clear the resident cat in her home wanted nothing to do with her, the rescue explaining, “The resident cat was bullying Celine to the point she would always hide.”

Good Food x 2

When Celine returned to For the Love of Cats, the foster mom who had adopted her brother was eager to take her in and bring her back to the fun-loving, playful kitty she once was. Food from donations helped bring the siblings together again peacefully.

“She used Meow Mix donations to re-introduce the siblings during feeding time,” shared For the Love of Cats. “After a few weeks, Celine has started to come back out of her shell, playing like a kitty should.”

For the Love of Cats appreciates every can and every bag they receive.

“Thank you GOODS Program, 4 Paws Animal Rescue Ambassadorship, and Meow Mix for this wonderful supply of food. We can rescue so many more cats.”

But those GOODS trucks can’t roll without you! So, it’s time to treat you and your kitty to something cute, and know that every purchase ensures hungry cats are getting hearty meals.
