Two Senior Cats Needed a Safe Place to Land
Jasper, 16, and Princess, 14, had spent years with their family. Then their dad passed away. Their mom became seriously ill and was hospitalized for months before moving to a care facility. When the people caring for the cats could no longer continue, she reached out to Karlee’s Angels for help.
At first, she hoped the arrangement would be temporary. Soon, she realized Jasper and Princess would likely need a new home for good.
When a rescuer arrived to pick them up, the house was 100 degrees. Jasper was lying on the bathroom tile, trying to keep cool. Princess was tucked into the shadows beneath a bed. Both had lost considerable weight amid the upheaval, and Jasper was pulling out his fur in large clumps.
Karlee’s Angels took them straight to the veterinarian. Thankfully, their lab results came back okay. Jasper was dehydrated, Princess was showing early signs of an upper respiratory infection, and both cats needed full dental procedures. Their veterinarian recommended giving them time, care, and a chance to settle in before scheduling the dentals.
