Cat lovers look for kitties wherever they go, and sometimes, they wind up seeing cats everywhere.

Malaysian artist, Lim Heng Swee, is one such feline fancier and his cat-tuned vision has inspired a series of minimalist landscapes featuring cats, titled simply Cat Landscapes. As it turns out, the fluid physique of a cat shapes well with the natural world. In fact, Lim noticed this pretty much right off in his foray into landscape art.

In a piece for Bored Panda, Lim explained, “Recently, I started to explore minimal landscape art and found that the curves and shapes of the land have a lot of similarities with the curve and shape of the cat. I tried to blend the two elements together and the result is surprisingly great. It’s like the surreal view you can see if you landed into a cat planet which is super cool!”

Indeed, the series is super cool and just one of Lim’s many “doodles”.

Just a few months into his career as an engineer, Lim Heng Swee “aka ilovedoodle” knew he wasn’t working in the right field. He quit and turned to art, now working as a successful illustrator and graphic designer. As his website states, “His mantra is ‘Doodling A Smile’, aiming to make people smile more in their everyday lives.”

And Lim’s series, Cat Landscapes, definitely creates smiles.

Lim’s pieces are minimal, but the impact is maximum…
