Cats have their own unique personalities, and some are more playful than others. For Chris and his cat Bubba, their favorite activity is sneaking up on each other in their apartment, trying to give the other a good scare. Despite their best efforts, Bubba rarely gets startled; he’s a calm cat who doesn’t scare easily.

Bubba’s laid-back attitude might come from his past. Before Chris adopted him, he was a friendly neighborhood cat who visited many people around the apartment complex. Chris noticed that the cat, whom he called “Zero,” was starting to look thin, so he began feeding him. Zero started coming to Chris’s deck every day to play. After leaving a note in the laundry room, Chris found out that the cat’s real name was Bloom. He invited Bloom into his apartment, and the cat made himself at home right away.

One day, Bloom’s owner contacted Chris and asked if he would adopt the cat, especially after Bloom had a health scare. Chris was more than happy to welcome the cat into his life permanently and felt that Bubba had chosen him. “That is how the cat distribution system works,” he thought. Chris noticed that the cat responded better to the name Bubba than to Zero or Bloom, so he started calling him that. Now, they live together and continue their game of trying to surprise each other by jumping out from hiding spots.

They share a lot of laughs and put in a lot of effort to catch each other off guard. When Bubba is found hiding and ready to pounce, he gets a bit annoyed if Chris points a phone camera at him. After watching several videos on Chris’s TikTok page, it’s clear that Bubba is better at scaring Chris. The clever cat waits silently until Chris walks around a corner, and then he POUNCES!

Bubba is a beautiful orange tabby with white markings, looking much like a creamsicle. He and Chris are sure to have many more happy and thrilling moments together.
