A tiny kitten named Stomper is proving that one compassionate decision can completely change a life. His story began when a woman brought him to a veterinary clinic in a box, concerned about his condition. Born with severely deformed front feet and struggling with additional health issues, the fragile kitten faced an uncertain future and was reportedly at risk of being euthanized. But everything changed when members of Cats of San Bernardino happened to cross paths with him that day. What started as a chance encounter quickly became a life-saving rescue, giving Stomper the opportunity to receive the care, support, and second chance he desperately needed.

A Chance Encounter at the Vet Changed Everything
The team at Cats of San Bernardino was visiting their veterinarian when they noticed a woman carrying a crying kitten inside a box. Concerned about the distressed baby, they struck up a conversation and quickly learned that something was seriously wrong.
The woman explained that the kitten had what she described as “broken front feet” and was also experiencing rectal bleeding. She shared that her children had been urging her to have the kitten euthanized.
Rather than walking away, the rescuers asked a simple question that would change everything.
Would she consider surrendering him instead?
Thankfully, she agreed.
The Tiny Kitten Needed Immediate Medical Attention
The kitten was immediately taken in for a full veterinary examination, including X-rays and a panleukopenia test. Fortunately, the test came back negative, eliminating one major concern.
Veterinarians soon determined that the rectal bleeding likely wasn’t caused by a serious injury at all. Instead, they believed it stemmed from severe diarrhea caused by an improper diet. The kitten had reportedly been drinking only cow’s milk, which can cause significant digestive problems in cats and kittens.
The rescue team was relieved to learn that the issue appeared treatable, allowing them to focus their attention on the kitten’s other medical concerns.
Veterinarians Made a Surprising Discovery
The biggest surprise came when the X-rays were reviewed.
The tiny kitten had an extraordinary number of extra toes.
“We have honestly never seen a kitty quite like him before,” the rescue shared.
While some cats are born with extra digits, a condition known as polydactyly, Stomper’s situation appeared far more complex. His front feet showed significant abnormalities, leading veterinarians to suspect the deformities could be related to irresponsible breeding.
The doctor and clinic staff immediately began discussing possible ways they might be able to help correct the issues affecting his feet as he continued to grow.
Stomper’s Sweet Personality Quickly Shone Through

Despite everything he had been through, the kitten quickly settled into foster care. He developed a healthy appetite, his digestive issues began improving, and his personality started shining through.
According to the rescue, he loves making biscuits and has already charmed everyone around him with his affectionate nature.
As his health improved, rescuers also noticed another unusual characteristic. Stomper often sits with his back legs pushed completely forward in front of him, giving him a unique posture. While they aren’t yet sure whether it’s connected to his front-foot condition, the good news is that his back legs move normally and don’t appear to cause him any pain.
Each day seemed to bring another reason to be optimistic about his future.

His Unique Looks Raise Questions About His Genetics
Then there’s his striking appearance.
Stomper sports a beautiful cream-colored coat accented with darker markings and distinctive circular patterns along his sides. The rescue described the markings as almost Bengal-like, adding another layer to the mystery surrounding his genetics.
Between his unusual coloring, abundance of extra toes, and foot deformities, rescuers suspect breeding-related abnormalities may have played a role in his condition.
While no one knows exactly how Stomper ended up with such a unique combination of traits, there’s no denying that he is unlike any kitten the rescue has encountered before.
A Custom 3D-Printed Solution Offers Hope
Perhaps the most encouraging development has been the effort to help him walk.
Veterinarians discovered that Stomper’s front feet have a deformity affecting the placement of his toes and metacarpal pads. Remarkably, when pressure is applied to the pad, his toes can actually shift back into a more natural position.
That discovery sparked an innovative solution.
The manager at the veterinary clinic and her daughter designed and 3D-printed custom braces specifically for Stomper. After creating several prototypes, they developed braces that support the metacarpal pads and help keep everything aligned properly.
As Stomper continues growing, everyone involved hopes the braces will encourage his feet to develop in a healthier position over time.
The custom devices are still being refined and adjusted, with additional fittings planned as he gets bigger. But early results have already exceeded expectations.
From Facing Euthanasia to Fighting for a Brighter Future

When Stomper first arrived, he wasn’t able to stand.
Now, rescuers are beginning to see encouraging signs of progress.
While his journey is far from over, Stomper’s story is already a powerful reminder of what can happen when people choose compassion over convenience. A kitten who was once facing euthanasia now has a dedicated team of rescuers, veterinarians, and innovators working together to give him the best possible future.
And if his determination so far is any indication, little Stomper is ready to keep proving that he was always worth fighting for.
