Silver Stub was transferred from Prince William Animal Shelter to the care of licensed veterinary technician Ellen Carozza, LVT, VTS (CP-Feline), after concerns about her development prompted further medical investigation. At first, veterinarians suspected a thyroid disorder because the kitten’s growth did not match her age. Blood tests were ordered in hopes of finding a straightforward explanation.
Meanwhile, Silver Stub settled comfortably into her foster home.

Her pituitary gland does not produce enough growth hormone, preventing her body from developing at the normal rate. As a result, she remains permanently kitten-sized despite growing older.
