Shrek has gathered quite a fanbase on TikTok, where many people have poked fun at his consistently tired expressions. His owner decided to join in on the fun, reading the playful insults aloud to him.
One of the comments she read said, “Shrek looks like his wife left him and took the kids,” while another joked, “Shrek looks like a piece of plastic that warped in the microwave.” His owner couldn’t help but laugh as she shared these with Shrek, showing her amusement at the lighthearted humor.
In another TikTok video, Shrek’s owner explained the reason behind his permanently tired look. When Shrek was first rescued, he had to undergo surgery for a condition called entropion, which caused his eyelashes to grow inward, irritating his eyes. Though the surgery was successful, Shrek still tends to squint a lot, giving him that appearance of someone who just woke up from a nap.
This incident sets a dangerous precedent for what is acceptable in our educational institutions.
