When two-month-old Tallyrand was found in a storm drain, the kitten couldn’t move her back legs or tail due to broken back. She was saved by the Washington-based Humane Rescue Alliance, and at first, it looked like she may never walk again,.

“When they found her she couldn’t move her back legs or her tail or anything,” said Nikki Link, a vet nurse at the Humane Rescue Alliance, in a story by WUSA9. “She could not walk at all, she just wasn’t responding.”

But they weren’t ready to stop trying. They started giving the tuxedo kitten acupuncture treatments, and a month later, everything changed. Her tail started to twitch and her legs began to kick. Then, she stood on her own. Link said in the news story:

“We were holding her and we just decided to let her go, it was the most exciting thing.”

Watch a video on Tallyrand’s journey, below:

Aww, isn’t she precious? After a couple months of work, this little sweetheart is almost ready for adoption. She’ll be looking for the purrfect home to give her a little extra TLC as she regains her mobility.

Thanks to this wonderful rescue for having faith in Tallyrand, and we wish this cutie the best of luck in finding her forever home!
