As many of us know, cats are usually pretty clean animals and do a great job grooming themselves and each other. Sometimes they get a little stinky and need to take a quick bath in the tub, but other than that they do mostly everything else themselves. So when these cats see their mommy pull out some q-tips, they can’t help but think they are just fun toys for their entertainment!

Sometimes cats have their own favorite and unique objects to play with other than their toys. Like the strip that comes off the top of a gallon of milk when you open it, cardboard boxes, round hair ties or these q-tips!

When you let your cat play with these smaller objects, you should take extreme caution and make sure your pet doesn’t attempt to eat or swallow them. I have to keep hair ties out of my older cat’s reach because he will try to eat them, and we all know they can’t be doing that because it will make them sick, choke or worse. On the other hand my boyfriend’s old cat loved to play with them and toss them around, never even considering the idea of eating one. So just be careful. Keep all hair ties off the floor, as well as making sure q-tips make it in the trashcan. Make sure your kitties stay happy and healthy!
