What do you get when you cross a cat and a bag of chips? The reactions can vary. Some cats love salty chips and won’t leave you alone once they’ve discovered you have a snack they want. And then, there are the cats that could care less about human snacks.

In the case of one silly kitty in Pleasanton, Texas, she’s obviously one of the cats who enjoy snacking. So much, in fact, she dove headfirst into a sack of chips and wound up needing an officer of the law to rescue her from her salty predicament.

Officer Matt DeLeon of the Pleasanton Police Department captured the moment he came to the cat’s rescue on video. And lucky for us, the department shared the clip to Facebook.

Rescued From “A Bad Case of the Munchies”

While out on patrol, Officer DeLeon came across a cat sitting in a parking lot, all hunched up with a bright yellow chip bag stuck on her head. Because this kitty couldn’t eat just one, she burrowed her head deep into the bag to get those last little crumbs of salty deliciousness. But her tenacity in eating left her in a pickle. Thankfully for the kitty, DeLeon was on the scene!

DeLeon moved in quickly and plucked the dastardly bag from the cat’s head. And while undoubtedly thankful for the help, the cat went streaking away instead of sticking around to offer some gratitude purrs! Hopefully, the cat was running for home where she could relax after her ordeal.

Thanks to the wonder of social media, we’re fortunate to share in the good moment. And we’re happy to bring it to you as well!

Proud of Officer Deleon for helping this cat out, the Pleasanton Police Department shared the 14-second clip to Facebook with the caption, “Kudos to Officer DeLeon today for rescuing this cat who found himself in a predicament after a bad case of the munchies. Good job Matt!”

And this cutie cat isn’t the only kitty to find herself in a food dilemma, though felines might not think of thievery as a problem. Check out Cats Don’t Beg, They Just Steal Your Food Instead!
