The Palm Valley Animal Society has a shining star in Adriana, a local caretaker devoted to making life better for so many animals in need. And when Kitties Pantera and Maverick count their lucky stars, she’s at the top of the list after she rescued them from “the fury of a Texas thunderstorm.” But this cat hero and the animal rescue group she works with couldn’t make the magic happen without your help, cat lover.
When you shop with iHeartCats, every single purchase funds donations for felines in need. Whether you purchase a cute cat shirt for yourself or supplements for your cat, that cart full of goodies gives compassion. Through our partnership with Greater Good Charities, we ensure shelter cats receive food and other necessities while waiting for their forever home. To date, the GOODS Program has delivered over 578 million meals to shelters and rescues nationwide. That’s more than 6,000 truckloads delivered to hungry animals, and Adriana can fill so many food bowls with these donations.
Good Food To Further the Good Work
Allison with Palm Valley Animal Society explained that the large population of stray pets in the Rio Grande Valley has Adriana frequently rescuing animals. Finances can be tight when trying to care for so many rescue animals. But thanks to donations from the GOODS program, she can continue supporting her rescue pets and providing them with quality care.
And when she heard Pantera and Maverick crying in a recent storm, she went to work once more, rescuing the pair from their pitiful dumpster hiding spot. Allison said Adriana knew these alley cats weren’t typical street cats who could survive outside. They were clearly indoor cats who had either lost their way or been dumped in the alley behind their current caretaker’s home.
After several weeks of trying to find their family or anyone who may recognize the cats as community cats, Adriana decided Maverick and Pantera belonged with her, bringing them sunshine after the storm that changed everything. A cat food donation from Muttnation Foundation made sure Maverick and Pantera always had nutritious meals and made it possible for them to live the comfortable life they now have with Adriana.
“Never again will they have to worry about how they will receive their next meal or where to find shelter for rest,” Allison of Palm Valley said of Pantera and Maverick.
“The GOODS program and MuttNation Foundation are changing lives in the Rio Grande Valley with their generous donations.”
The community in this historically impoverished area desperately wishes to help lost and homeless pets in the region, and the supplies from the GOODS Program and MuttNation Foundation help them do so.
