Dogs have an amazing ability to sense things that people often miss.
This was shown in a viral TikTok video where a dog’s constant barking at a car led to saving a tiny life.
Savannah, the dog’s owner, shared in a TikTok video that her puppy wouldn’t stop whining at her car early at 6 AM.
Worried, she and her partner looked under the hood but saw nothing unusual. The dog kept whining, so they sprayed the car with a hose.
Then, they saw a small kitten run out from under the car.
The stray kitten had been hiding in the car’s hood and might have stayed hidden if not for the dog’s alertness.
Luckily, Savannah is experienced with animals, having found many unexpectedly.
She said on TikTok, “This is the 3rd baby animal I’ve found in 35 days. It feels like a joke at this point.”
Savannah took the kitten in, and though it was initially scared and hissed at her, it soon calmed down. However, she didn’t keep the kitten forever. Her friend Cody offered to adopt it.
The National Park Service has a plan to potentially euthanize up to 170 feral cats under the guise of nuisance control. Demand a policy that protects these cats!
Ironically, Savannah had just said goodbye to her own pet cat a month before. She sent the kitten to its new home with all her leftover cat food and supplies.
She wrote, “I’m happy I have someone to share those things with. I wish you happiness in your new home and I’m really glad you picked my car to hide in.”
