It’s often believed that cats and dogs can’t be friends, but this isn’t always true. With patience and care, they can get along very well.

This is a story about a cat and a dog who proved this beautifully.

Lisa Olsen-Plummer loves animals and had a cat named Jasper. She decided to bring a Beagle named Bo into her home.

Even though Lisa hoped they would be friends, Jasper and Bo weren’t sure at first. They had to get to know each other slowly.

Bo was shy around Jasper, and Jasper wasn’t sure he could trust Bo. Lisa knew they wouldn’t become best friends overnight, but she hoped they would eventually accept each other.

At first, Jasper kept his distance and just watched Bo as he played around the house. “Jasper was very cautious of Bo at first,” Lisa said. But then, something wonderful happened. “He (Jasper) stayed back and watched from a distance until one day, he went up to Bo and put his arm around him,” Lisa explained. This gesture surprised and delighted Lisa.

“It was almost like he was telling him, ‘It’s OK! Let’s play.’ I think that’s where Bo learned the hug from,” Lisa added. From that day, Jasper and Bo became more than just friends; they were like brothers. They played together all the time, even though they sometimes annoyed each other, like siblings do.

“They play hard and instigate one another. Sometimes, it causes a fight and I make them split up—just like the kids,” Lisa said. Despite these little quarrels, Lisa captured many sweet moments of them together.

They were always active, either playing or having minor disagreements. But at the end of the day, they would relax side by side on the couch or watch the world outside the window together. One special moment was captured in a video where Bo jumped on the sofa and gently put his arm around Jasper while they watched birds outside.
