A tabby cat was waiting to be adopted, but a comfortable cat condo inside a small pet shop couldn’t make up for what he missed most—having a home. The big cat loved to cuddle, and when a couple of cat lovers stopped to give him attention, he took full advantage of the opportunity.

Andy Brumagen and his fiance Jessica Parken couldn’t walk past the adoptable cat without saying hello, but they never expected to make an instant connection. As soon as Parken lifted the tabby into her arms, the cat knew he never wanted to let go. He wrapped his paws around her neck and buried his face in her jacket. He nuzzled against her shoulder while Parken softly stroked his back.

When Parken attempted to return the cat to his condo, he refused to let go. He clung to her jacket and didn’t want to give up the chance to finally go home. Parken decided to call the tabby “Clutch,” but she knew no matter how much she loved him, her home wouldn’t be the best place for him. Clutch’s profile said he didn’t get along well with other animals or small children. With an ailing 19-year-old cat and a three-year-old toddler at home, Parken and her fiance made the difficult realization that they couldn’t offer Clutch what he needed.

Hey everyone, thank you for all the love on this video. We have gotten word that this guy has found a home. For everyone who keeps asking why we couldn’t take him is because we have a 19 year old cat at home who needs constant love and affection and would probably get very depressed and die if we brought another animal home and we have a three year old child as well. We were told that he does not do well with other animals and/or children. So, that is the reason why we couldn’t take him ourselves. Thanks to us posting this video in a local group he had a stack of applicants and they narrowed it down to one.

The couple couldn’t adopt the cat themselves, but that didn’t mean they couldn’t help him find a home. Determined that Clutch deserved the perfect family, they posted videos and pictures to Facebook. They showed everyone what a kind, compassionate cat Clutch was and hoped the right person would make the same connection that Parken did. After a few days, their plan worked. Multiple people fell in love with Clutch, and they showed up at the pet store ready to meet him.

When Parken went back to see how Clutch was doing, she was delighted to find a crowd of people filling out adoption applications. The adoption coordinator went through them all and picked the perfect person that could meet the cat’s special needs. Clutch finally went home and is living with a family that offers as many hugs and cuddles as he wants.
