For 18 years, Boots was a loyal, loving companion to his family. With a life expectancy around 15 years for domesticated cats, it’s easy to say that Mr. Boots is in the golden years of his life. When his owners discovered that their new home wouldn’t allow pets, they surrendered Boots to the Massachusetts S.P.C.A. in hopes that he could find a new home. While kittens are usually the first adopted out, some kindhearted folks will think to adopt the senior cats who need homes just as badly. But at almost 20 years of age–which is a whole lotta cat years of age–the chances of poor Boots being adopted were rather slim.
This is when a miracle happened, or perhaps karma swept in to reward this sweet cat for his loyalty for almost two decades. Cara Seifert, a veterinary technician of Lowell, Massachusetts came in by chance and instantly fell in love with Boots. After taking him home as her own, Boots was delighted to become a part of everyday life with his new family. Boots proves to all people that age is just a number, and that there are senior cats all over the world that deserve loving, forever homes just as much as the tiny kittens do. Here’s to you, Boots!
