Precious Stella came to APL as a stray, sick and alone, suffering from an upper respiratory infection and conjunctivitis. After recovering, she was adopted not once, but twice, only to be returned both times within a matter of months. The first return came because of “unrealistic expectations.” The second happened after she began showing behavior issues that were later discovered to be caused by a severe ear infection. Through it all, Stella continued waiting for someone willing to truly care for her instead of giving up on her when things became difficult.
Now living among the sanctuary cats at APL, Precious Stella spends her days hoping the right person will finally see her for who she is: a loving cat who simply wants a home that will not abandon her again.

Noggin arrived at APL with a horrific wound around his neck, carrying the scars of whatever life he survived before rescue. Despite the pain he must have endured, he has remained incredibly affectionate and trusting with everyone he meets.

He loves being held, soaking up attention, and chasing feather toys around the room. He gets along well with other cats and brings joy everywhere he goes.

Noggin has already overcome so much in his life. Now he is waiting for a family who will give him the comfort and safety he has always deserved.

Finley was found abandoned inside a box behind a CVS alongside three other kittens, all of them covered in glue. One kitten’s eyes had even been glued open. Staff carefully bathed the kittens while a foster home gave them a quiet place to recover and finally feel safe. Over time, the other kittens found homes of their own, but Finley is still waiting.

Now 8 months old, Finley spends his days hoping someone will choose him too. After such a painful beginning to life, he deserves the chance to grow up surrounded by love instead of being left behind once again.

Alice arrived at FAT Cat Haven as a tiny kitten suffering from one of the worst cases of ringworm rescuers had ever seen. Nearly every inch of her fragile little body was affected, and she needed constant medicated baths and intensive care just to heal.

Despite everything, Alice never fought the people trying to help her. She stayed calm, gentle, and trusting through every treatment, as if she understood she was finally safe.

BJ was six years old when the person he trusted decided they did not want him anymore. They called him “too much trouble,” but the truth was far more heartbreaking. BJ was not difficult. He was desperately sick and had been left suffering without care.
When he arrived at FAT Cat Haven, he was severely malnourished, covered in fleas, dangerously anemic, and fighting a serious worm infestation. Without treatment, he likely would not have survived much longer. But with patience, medical care, and love, BJ slowly began to recover. Today, he is healthy, playful, affectionate, and full of life. He loves treats, attention, and curling up safely indoors after everything he has endured.
BJ was never “too much trouble.” He was simply a cat who needed someone to care enough to help him.
