When Sly Cooper was brought to Operation Catnip, it was immediately clear that something was wrong. He was suffering from a condition called entropion, a painful eye disorder that caused his eyelids to turn inward. As a result, his eyelashes and surrounding fur rubbed directly against his eyeballs with every blink.
The condition affected more than just his vision. It left him in constant discomfort, making even the simplest moments difficult. His eyes were irritated, sensitive, and unable to function as they should. For a cat trying to navigate the world, the condition created daily challenges that no animal should have to endure.
Thankfully, help was already waiting for him.
The organization’s Medical Director performed a specialized entropion repair procedure, carefully correcting the position of Sly Cooper’s eyelids. The surgery restored the eyelid edges to their proper placement, preventing the fur and lashes from scraping against his eyes and causing further pain.
The transformation was remarkable.
Although Sly Cooper sported a funny-looking haircut after surgery, he was feeling dramatically better than when he first arrived at the spay-neuter clinic. Gone was the constant irritation that had followed him for so long. In its place was comfort, relief, and the chance to enjoy life without pain clouding every moment.

With his surgery behind him and his recovery progressing beautifully, Sly Cooper is now ready for the next chapter of his journey.
Operation Catnip recently announced that this special boy is heading to The Humane Society of North Central Florida, where he will begin the search for a loving forever home. After everything he has endured, he finally has the opportunity to experience the safety, affection, and stability every cat deserves.

The medical treatment Sly Cooper received was fully funded through Operation Catnip’s Critical Care Program. This initiative provides medical care and surgical procedures beyond standard trap-neuter-return services at no cost to caregivers, ensuring cats with serious medical needs receive the help they urgently require.
Because of that support, Sly Cooper’s future looks brighter than ever. What began as a painful struggle has become a story of healing, hope, and second chances. Now, this resilient cat can move forward comfortably, with clear eyes and the promise of a loving family waiting somewhere ahead.
