After the tragic accidental shooting on the set of Rust that claimed the life of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza, Alec Baldwin and his family have been caught in what wife Hilaria described as an “intense” time. To complicate an already difficult moment, the Baldwins’ Bengal cat, Emilio, went missing from the Vermont property where the family has been staying. Baldwin’s wife, Hilaria, took to Instagram to share news of the young Bengal cat’s disappearance.

Details about how Emilio went missing have not been released, but Hilaria did report Emilio was microchipped, and local police were aware he was missing. Fortunately, Emilio was quickly located and reunited with the Baldwins. Sadly though, he seems to be suffering a broken leg.

“Grateful Beyond Words”

When Emilio went missing on a Tuesday morning, Hilaria posted a photo of the cat with one of her six children.

The worried cat mom wrote, “We can’t find our cat, Emilio. If anyone sees him, please help him get home. We are all so upset. He’s microchipped but no collar.”

She also asked that if anyone found him, they should contact local police.

Later that same day, Hilaria took to Instagram once again to report Emilio had been found.

“We found him,” shared Hilaria.

She posted a photo of Emilio in a carrier, looking quite serious and a bit bewildered. One of his back legs looked to be extended in an awkward position, his mom reporting, “Emilio seems to have a broken leg, but he is alert.”

“Fingers crossed he will pull through.”

The family is relieved to have their cat home again, and Hilaria extended her thanks to everyone who helped get Emilio back home.

“I’m so grateful, beyond words.”

While grateful, Hilaria explained she wouldn’t mention any of the rescuers’ names in order to protect them as “paparazzi and tabloid media are calling every single connection to us, and I don’t want you to be harassed too.”

To further highlight the problems they’ve had, Hilaria said, “As I write this, there are people, taking my picture, through the trees of the property we are staying at. They have not respected our ask to have space, even after the interview we pulled over to do the other day.”

Fortunately, Emilio was able to get home without interference.

A Family Cat

TMZ reported Emilio joined the family after Alec and Hilaria adopted him as a kitten for their 8-year-old daughter, Carmen. Alec suffers from cat allergies, but Bengals are one of the more hypoallergenic cat breeds.
