According to IMGUR user squishiepeaches, their dog Crosby has always been a friendly fella. Crosby loves his owner, and will greet squishiepeaches with excited howls when they come through the door each day. Crosby was used to being surrounded with friends, but earlier this year his feline best friend died. A few weeks later, his doggy companion also passed.

Squishiepeaches didn’t consider getting a new pet. “Crosby has been pretty okay about being an only doggo, or so I thought.”

Crosby was ready to make a new friend, and took it into his own paws to find one!

Squishiepeaches arrived home one day, and expected to be greeted as usual by Crosby. But their pup had a surprise, and he was eager to show it off. Crosby led his owner to the bathtub, and inside was a tiny, gray kitten!

Squishiepeaches posted, “This kitty was meowing up a storm. I’ve never seen this kitten before, and although I do have a doggy door, it’s way too high off the ground for this little baby to have snuck in. Seems to me that Crosby must have brought her inside. She has an uncanny resemblance to the kitty friend he lost 6 months ago.”

Squishiepeaches checked around their neighborhood, and neighbors were familiar with the kitten, but didn’t know where she belonged. A quick trip to the vet showed that although the kitten had been spayed only recently, she didn’t have a microchip.

The vet said the local shelter was overcrowded, and with over 300 cats already there, the chances of the kitten being euthanized were high. The vet recommended either putting her outside and hoping she went home, or adopting her.

So Crosby got a new kitty!

She has since been dubbed – “Raina,” or “Lil Ray Ray”.

“I guess Crosby didn’t like being an only doggo after all,” says squishiepeaches.

Don’t these two look like a family already? They were made for each other!
