A Perfect Princess: Meet Pixie from The Magnificent 7: Britain’s Most Famous Cats

| July 13, 2015

The Magnificent 7 Cats are Rocky, Dr Prince, Junior, Ugs, Princess Pixie, Tom and Norman. They live with their people in London, England.

Over the coming weeks, we’re going to be meeting each of the 7 cats. This week we feature the only girl in the family: Pixie.

On Valentine’s Day 2011 a very special girl came into the world. Princess Pixie Pee-Pee Persephone (or Pixie for short) is a pure-bred blue-point rag doll with attitude!

She lives with 6 boys – all of whom are bigger than her – but she makes her presence felt. She’s exceptionally bright and rather crafty. Her favourite thing to do is plot her escape through open windows – the higher-up, the better!

She’s obsessed with trying to climb over the garden fence, too. We’ve had to install netting around the top (Pixie did not approve) and she’ll spend hours staring up in the hope of spotting a gap.

She has many secrets, one of which is her love for drinking water directly from the toilet. She knows she is not supposed to do this; when she’s caught she’ll adopt a ‘Who? Me? What?’ look on her face and lie on her back for a tickle.

Pixie is a stunner and she really knows it. She trots around the M7 house like a girl in heels stopping every few steps for a quick groom; she likes to look her best – and those eyes!

Unlike most cats, Pixie actually likes having her picture taken. She’ll sit quietly and try different poses – like a pro!

Princess Pee Pee Persephone is quite a grand name – and a bit of a mouthful –  so we shorten it to Pixie. She’s named after the Greek goddess Persephone who was abducted and taken to the Underworld by the god Hades where she became his queen. Perhaps this explains her regal nature and why escape is always on her mind…

Pixie’s fur is always immaculate and just as soft and it looks. She’s also a very slinky girl. She’ll stretch-out on her rug and loves her tummy scratched (when she’s in the mood).

Pixie might look girly but she’s no pushover. She has a mean right hook and she’s not afraid to use it. Any nonsense from her 6 siblings (especially from Norman – who adores her and stalks her constantly) and they’ll get a punch. Talk about an iron paw in a velvet glove; don’t mess with Princess P.

Beautiful, sophisticated, intelligent and aloof she may be. But no cat can resist a cardboard box!
