These 6 Cats Hold Amazing World Records

| July 15, 2014

Cats are amazing – that’s why we love them! But sometimes we might forget how cool these little animals are. Or maybe we’re just trying to convince a non-enthusiast to share our love for felines. While world records might sound like something for only people to handle, cats have mastered the art of being unique as well. Even if you don’t like cats, you can’t deny that the awesome feats below are impressive!

We all want to know who the richest people are, but what about the richest cats?! Fortunately for Blackie, his owner was Ben Rea, a millionaire antiques dealer. When Mr. Rea passed away, he left an unbelievable $12.5 million fortune to Blackie.

Colonel Meow is a Persian/Himalayan cross who lives in Seattle, Washington with his lovely owners. When they realized Colonel Meow needed more grooming than the average feline, they took him to three independent veterinarians who measured his fur. The average length of his coat is 9 inches! That’s quite a bit of cat hair!

Jake, who lives in Ontario, Canada with his owners, holds the world record for having the most toes for a cat. Sounds pretty unique – and it is! Jake is a polydactyl cat, meaning he has extra toes. But in Jake’s case, he has 7 toes on each foot, with a total of 28 toes! They were counted by a veterinarian and were found to each have their own bone, pad, and claw. That’s a lot of toes!
