Cats are amazing and super cute bathed in the glow of a lit Christmas tree. But, how long does that Christmas tree really stand a chance with a feline around? All too many cat parents know the answer to this question when it comes to their felines. It took a good decade around this house for the tree to make a whole season standing. And while the tree stays upright, it never goes untouched. The tones of warning in which my cats’ names are sung when they approach the tree might as well be the favorite Christmas carol around here.

Now, presents… they’re still up for grabs in the shiny, wide eyes of the feline horde. Forget bows, they’re just cat fodder at this point. Curling ribbon. Nope, seen way too much of that in shredded piles beside the Christmas tree. If all the gifts make it to the big day without a cat’s imprint on the box or the corners of the wrapping paper still intact, that’s considered a win.

When it comes to decorations, its not the holidays without an ornery tabby swiping a snow globe off the counter top. You’d think his mom would know better, but no. Fa la la la la, get the broom and dustpan…

Now for some laughs…

If ornaments could tremble, they would upon seeing a cat come near…

They plot it…they really do…

Seems some cat parent had enough of the tree-tipping…

You can see the destruction shining in a cat’s eyes before they hit the tree…

At least cats are cute when they wreak havoc on the holiday decor…

And yes, felines do believe the tree is for them, no matter how many times we say no…

Kitties claim they’re just helping, but we can see the through the trilling and leg-twining to the truth…

Sometimes ‘helping’ doesn’t go a cat’s way though…

And, when the tree is down, a cat will act so innocent…

They will definitely cast the blame on anyone else…

The trouble isn’t just for the tree. Cats will wreck anything holiday-themed. They’re not picky in that way…

Cats can be snarky about lots of things, giving good holiday funnies…

Feline faces capture our thoughts perfectly sometimes, especially when it comes to extra pounds from tasty holiday treats…

And, just because Smudge memes are funny year-round…

Since all these memes have been busting on cats and their destructive ways, let’s end on adorable…

Have a Meow-y Christmas and a Furry New Year!
