Lucky for those of us passionate about cats, caffeine, and animal rescue, cat cafes have popped up all over the world.

Most of these hybrid businesses work like this: patrons can sip beverages and nibble snacks while being surrounded by adoptable cats who’ve been brought there by partnering rescues.

This genius business plan was the basis for the Denver Cat Company in Colorado, whose founder, Sana Hamelin, quit her lucrative career as a lawyer and spent her life savings opening the cat cafe. Luckily, Hamelin’s love for kitties is shared by the locals, and her endeavor has been a success!

Full of felines, goodies, and kitty-themed merchandise, this trendy cafe should be a mandatory stop if you ever find yourself in Denver. Until then, watch the video below to sneak a peak into the establishment – and hear from the founder herself!

Take a look inside the Denver Cat Company:

Pretty cool, huh? We’re so glad that the concept of cat cafes has taken off – they’re good for the customers, the community, and of course, the cats!
