She started life like so many kittens, without a home. Lucky for her, though, she was at the Best Friends Kitten Nursey in Salt Lake City – so she was sure to have a bright future. From there, she moved to a foster family who helped her gain weight and got her fixed at the Best Friends Clinic. When she was ready, she moved to the Pet Adoption Center in early November 2015, where her purrfect family found her. Aaron and Jenni Colborn were immediately smitten with the cute kitten, who came up and mewed at them, begging to be picked up. That was all it took.

And, in case you were wondering, yes, she is named after the female lead in the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens film. But, she is also her owners “Little ‘rey’ of sunshine!” In an interview with ABC News Today, Jenni said:  “A lot of my friends, family, neighbors and coworkers are just obsessed with Rey and her smile,” Jenni, 27, told ABC News today “We like to think she’s the anti-Grumpy Cat, his self-proclaimed arch nemesis.”
