One person’s unwanted trash turned into a prized possession for one eager Labrador! Recently, a woman captured a hilarious moment on video, showing her neighbor’s dog proudly dragging a full garbage bag down the street. The happy pooch seemed absolutely thrilled with their find, as though it was a bundle of tasty treats. To the dog, it probably was the next best thing!

In the video, the Labrador joyfully bounded toward the neighbor, tail wagging with excitement as it pulled the trash bag along. The only problem? The dog was gripping the bottom of the bag, causing garbage to spill out along the way.

With a smile in her voice, the neighbor cheerfully asked, “Whatcha got? Got a bag of trash?”

In the post’s caption, the woman humorously wrote, “Took a morning walk around my block and the neighbor’s dog greeted me like this.”

The video quickly struck a chord with dog lovers in the comments. One user commented, “Very on brand for a black Lab, especially the whining at the end.” Another chimed in, “Labs just want to be the most helpful little helpers, even when they are absolutely not.”

Another dog owner shared, “My dog does this too! Anytime he’s excited to see someone, he grabs the nearest object to offer as a little gift.”

Labrador retrievers often have an irresistible urge to carry things, no matter what it is!

While Labs may not always have the best judgment about what to pick up, they’re certainly known for their helpfulness. Take, for instance, an older Labrador who’s made a habit of carrying groceries for his family. Though his mobility isn’t what it used to be, he still loves lending a paw around the house.

The National Park Service has a plan to potentially euthanize up to 170 feral cats under the guise of nuisance control. Demand a policy that protects these cats!

Though fetching groceries and dragging garbage may not seem like the same thing, both of these dogs were likely motivated by the same desire—to help in their own way. We may not always know what’s going on in a dog’s mind, but one thing is for sure: their intentions are always pure!
