Couple Stopped For Lifeless Lump, Inched Closer And A Paw Twitched

| September 13, 2024

Donald and Aggie Cooper, founders of Unleash the Paws, were on a long journey from Texas to Pennsylvania, delivering foster dogs, when something unexpected caught Donald’s eye on the side of the highway. He wasn’t entirely sure what he saw, but he had a hunch it could be a kitten. Despite being uncertain whether the animal was alive, they knew they had to check. Without hesitation, the couple turned their van around to investigate. The passing cars zoomed by so closely that the van shook from the force.

As Aggie carefully approached the small bundle of fur, she braced herself for the worst. Sadly, the kitten’s mother was already lifeless by his side. But as Aggie touched the tiny kitten, she noticed a small movement—his paw twitched, signaling he was still alive.

The kitten, barely a few days old, had eyes that were just beginning to open. They decided to give him a memorable name: Mile Marker 14, Interstate 70 East, Ohio—though they soon shortened it to “Miles.”

The Coopers resumed their road trip, now traveling with six foster dogs and their newfound feline companion. Donald noted that none of the dogs had been around a cat before, but they were all instantly curious and excited about the tiny kitten.

Since they still had weeks left before they could return to Texas and were living out of their van, the couple had to figure out how to care for little Miles on the go. It wasn’t long before the kitten became incredibly close to them. Every night, Miles slept on Aggie’s chest, bonding with her deeply.

As time passed, Miles started growing and becoming an essential part of the pack. He even began interacting with the foster dogs, who embraced him as one of their own.

Now at 7 weeks old, Miles is a lively, healthy kitten, ready for adoption. His playful and energetic nature would make him an ideal fit for a family with dogs. It’s incredible that after everything Miles endured, he’s thriving, healthy, and ready for a loving forever home.

A woman stands accused of seeking out live animals to harm them for her YouTube channel videos. Authorities must ban her from owning, adopting, living with, or working with pets ever again!

@unleash_the_paws In a world of shadows, be a ray of hope. This sweet tiny kitten was laying weak and lifeless on the side of the road. Everyone just ignored him as they drove by his tired body.(or they might have never saw him) His mama unfortunately didn’t make it. #rescue #kitten #orangekitten #cat #kindness #animals ♬ som original – Músicas legendadas
