Imagine sitting with your pet and suddenly realizing you’re chatting away, telling them about your day, asking silly questions, or just telling them how adorable they are. Pets have a special way of making us talk to them, even though they can’t answer back. But have you ever thought about what they would say if they could speak?

Andrew Grantham, the creative mind behind the hit YouTube channel “Talking Animals,” took this idea and ran with it. He creates funny videos where he gives animals a voice, and the results are absolutely hilarious. His method is simple: he takes home videos of pets and adds voice-overs, imagining what they might be thinking or wanting to say.

People love his videos—millions have watched them—because they’re curious about what their furry friends might say if they had the chance. One of his most famous videos is “What Cats Are Really Thinking,” which looks at how pets, especially cats, might feel about the way we use baby talk with them.

The video’s description says it all: “How our pets really feel about the ridiculous ways we talk to them.” If you have a pet, you probably get it—we often can’t help but use a high-pitched, sweet voice when we talk to them. But what if they could reply?

In the video, a cat is chilling on a kitchen chair, taking a nice nap. The owner walks in and immediately greets him with an over-the-top “Hi Kitty!” using that classic baby talk tone. Instead of just purring or ignoring the greeting like most cats might, this cat talks back. His response?

A cool and casual “Hey, what’s up. What’s going on?”

It’s exactly the kind of laid-back attitude you’d expect from a cat.

But the chat doesn’t end there. The owner keeps up the baby talk, asking, “Were you having a nap? And what did my kitty do today?” The cat, still unbothered, replies with a simple “Nothing much,” as if he’s already tired of the conversation. The owner keeps pushing with more playful questions, and the cat’s answers stay cool and detached—just like you’d expect from a creature that’s a pro at being aloof.

We all know that cats are pretty independent animals. They often seem mysterious, and while they can be loving, they’re also great at acting like they don’t care. Unlike dogs, who might wag their tails and get excited every time they see you, cats tend to keep their feelings to themselves. They might purr or rub against your leg, but they don’t always show their emotions openly—if they had sleeves, they wouldn’t wear their hearts on them.

How did a woman in New Jersey accumulate 47 animals - which she then neglected horrendously - after she had already been found guilty of abuse against 99 animals in Pennsylvania? Sign the petition to ban her from ever owning or living with animals in the future!

As the video goes on, the owner turns up the baby talk even more, asking, “Who’s my kitty?” which seems to annoy the cat. You can almost imagine the cat rolling his eyes as he reluctantly says, “I am…” The owner doesn’t stop there and adds, “Who’s my sweet little white fluffy little ball?” That’s when the cat can’t hold back anymore and delivers a funny line: “You better not put this on YouTube…”

The video has connected with people all over the world, getting over 13 million views. Fans can’t get enough. One person commented, “This video never stops being awesome,” while another said, “LOL! Hilarious! I love these talking animal videos!” It’s clear that mixing cute pets with perfect voice-overs is a surefire way to make people laugh.
