Guy Who ‘Dislikes’ Cats, Climbs Beneath Truck To Save This One

| September 12, 2024

While driving down the road, Jacob suddenly leaped out of the car and ran towards the truck in front of them. His wife, Tiffany, was initially confused, wondering what he was doing. But soon realized there was a frightened cat hiding under the vehicle ahead. “Did you get it?” she asked anxiously. Jacob carefully coaxed the cat out from under the truck and said, “Come here, baby, it’s okay. I promise you’re going to be fine.” Despite claiming not to be a cat person, it was clear Jacob was captivated by this one.

Having rescued the cat, Jacob decided to take her home despite already having a senior dog and a bunny. The initial plan was just to help her heal and get comfortable around humans so that someone could adopt her. As Jacob held her while his wife filmed their interaction, he said, “I don’t like cats, by the way, I just like this one.” Tiffany hilariously replied, “Oh, it looks like you really hate cats.”

Jacob had never had an animal in his home growing up. When his daughter saw the new arrival, she immediately took over, declaring herself the cat’s new mom. The two quickly bonded, with the cat sleeping beside her every night.

The family’s son was eager to have his turn with the new addition. “Okay, so it’s my turn now, right?” he asked when his sister was away for three days. He also fell in love with the cat, who they began calling Gracie. Soon, the whole family was begging Jacob to keep her.

The children’s pleas were relentless: “Can we please keep her?” they asked repeatedly. Finally, after much begging, the family decided to make Gracie a permanent member of their household, though Jacob admits there was never really a formal discussion about it.

Taking Gracie to the pet store to get her a collar became the next big step. The whole family felt a sense of joy seeing Gracie light up as they walked in. They printed out a name tag in the shape of a heart, which was perfect considering the love she brought into their lives. Gracie quickly fit in, getting along well with everyone, and soon they realized she was the missing piece they didn’t know they needed.

Gracie adapted to her new life effortlessly, joining her dad on bike rides. Even though he said he disliked cats before, Gracie became his sidekick. Despite his initial feelings about not being a “cat person,” Gracie won him over completely. In fact, Tiffany said they both weren’t cat people. But in the end, Gracie converted them.

“We were wrong,” Tiffany admitted, proving that sometimes, the best surprises come in the most unexpected forms. Do you know anyone who disliked cats and now loves them? Tell us all about it in our comment section. We love hearing from you.
