Saving a cat from a tree is often thought of as something from old cartoons, but it does happen in real life. Sometimes, firefighters are called to help when cats get stuck in trees.

This happened recently at Grand Canyon National Park, and people found the cat’s expression very funny.

On June 21, Grand Canyon National Park shared a story on social media about a black-and-white cat that got stuck high in a tree.

The cat was lying on its belly on a branch. The park wrote, “Tree-climbing for the purr-fect panorama!”

The picture of the cat became very popular on social media. Many people commented on the cat’s unusual position and its embarrassed look.

One person said, “That first picture is the epitome of ‘Man, I didn’t think this through.’” Another person wrote, “That cat looks embarrassed more than anything.”

Thankfully, the firefighters soon came to help and rescue the cat. A photo showed the crew climbing up a ladder to bring the cat down safely, making the old cartoon scene come true.

These poor kitties were rescued from an animal cruelty case where they were starved, locked in cages with inches of feces, and received no water or food. Now, these cats need your help!

The park’s Facebook post thanked the firefighters, saying, “A huge shoutout to our firefighters and first responders who sprang into action today to rescue a furry adventurer from the heights of a tree at Grand Canyon.”

Later, officials shared that they had found the cat’s owner and that the “furry adventurer” was now home safe. A park spokesperson told People that the cat’s name was Archie and that he had escaped from a nearby residential area in the park.
