Imagine sitting on your couch, gripping the armrest as a suspenseful scene unfolds in a movie. You know the threat is coming – the music gives it away. You can’t help but shout at the screen, urging the characters to “Run!” or “Hide!” It’s a classic reaction that we all experience. But, have you ever seen a dog do it? Meet Barney, a border collie who can’t contain his excitement when watching movies, especially when it comes to Jurassic Park.

In this memorable movie scene, the children are huddled in the kitchen, while the velociraptors stalk around, ready to pounce. The adults are nowhere in sight to help them, and that’s when Barney springs into action. He senses the danger the kids are in and begins to bark urgently, as if they can hear him. “Run! Hide!” he seems to be saying. Watching Barney become so worked up during this intense moment is both amusing and heartwarming. He just can’t understand why those kids aren’t listening to his warnings!

Barney isn’t your everyday border collie. Sure, he’s energetic and has all the typical traits of a herding dog, but he also has a unique obsession: TV. Not only does he have his favorite shows, but he also carries specific toys while watching them. For his favorite scene in Twilight, he has a large wolf plushie. When watching dragons soar through the skies, he clamps down on his dinosaur toy. Nature documentaries narrated by David Attenborough also make his watchlist, and yes, he’s got stuffed animals for each of his favorite films!

Sadly, this seems to have been a disturbing pattern that must be addressed. To protect future animals and provide him with the support he needs, he must be banned from ever owning animals again and undergo mandatory counseling.

Though Barney enjoys a variety of shows, nothing gets him as excited as watching Jurassic Park. He takes his role as a TV guardian very seriously, holding onto his dinosaur plushie while anxiously warning the kids on screen. His earnest attempts to protect them are endearing, even though those kids are now well into their 40s.

You can catch more of Barney’s TV adventures on Instagram, where his love for movies continues to entertain. Watching him fully engrossed in his favorite scenes is not only fascinating but also brings a smile to anyone who loves pets.
