Paper-Thin Cat Is Renewed Thanks To Kind Woman

| August 15, 2024

A frail, emaciated cat, barely more than skin and bones, crawled out from beneath a car, struggling to walk due to extreme weakness. A woman, out walking her dog, stumbled upon the cat and was deeply moved by its pitiful condition. She quickly returned with food and water, noticing that the cat appeared to have been starving for a long time. Despite the woman’s daily visits and her attempts to nourish the cat, its frail body suggested that it might be seriously ill.

The cat could only manage a few bites before losing interest in eating, but the woman continued to encourage it, hoping it would find the strength to keep fighting. Remarkably, the cat seemed to understand her efforts, gradually beginning to eat more earnestly, as if driven by a strong desire to survive.

Each evening, the woman would return to check on the cat, whose pleading eyes seemed to express a deep will to live. Although it was too weak to stand, the cat remained friendly, responding eagerly when called. Its docile, pitiable state tugged at the woman’s heartstrings. She decided to name the cat Ki-Wang Kyu, which means miracle and hope and switched its diet to goat milk porridge to help its struggling digestive system.

Determined to save the cat, the woman reached out to local animal rescue volunteers, hoping for assistance. Despite its dire condition, Ki-Wang Kyu showed a surprisingly strong spirit. A security guard, who had been keeping an eye on the cat, shared its sad history. Abandoned by its owner at the entrance of the complex a month earlier, the cat had endured days of heavy rain. The guard had moved the cat to a sheltered spot, where the kind woman later found it and began feeding it regularly.

Ki-Wang Kyu, sensing the kindness of those around it, willingly climbed into a carrier when it was time to be rescued. Seeing the cat safely taken in, the woman’s worries eased. At its new home, Ki-Wang Kyu received careful attention, including probiotics and moxibustion to aid its recovery. The cat was incredibly cooperative, enduring injections and treatment with the obedience of a well-behaved child. Even in its weakened state, Ki-Wang Kyu would knead its paws, a small sign of comfort.

Though standing remained difficult, Ki-Wang Kyu responded eagerly whenever called. Unfortunately, its condition did not improve significantly after initial treatment, leading the rescuers to seek specialized care in a larger city. There, the vet discovered severe liver damage and feline panleukopenia. Despite daily treatments, Ki-Wang Kyu’s frail body made recovery slow, but the rescuers remained hopeful.

Over time, Ki-Wang Kyu’s diet improved, and its legs began to regain strength. Two months later, the once-feeble cat had made a remarkable recovery. Its fur had grown back, its limbs had regained power, and it had become agile and active.

Thanks to the unwavering dedication of its rescuer, the cat was given a second chance at life, proving that even the harshest hardships could not break its spirit.
