Sometimes, if you want something done right, you have to take matters into your own hands!

Olga Ivanhenko, a housewife from Ukraine, learned this firsthand thanks to her furry friend, Bonya. Outside Olga’s home, she keeps a coop filled with chickens. Over time, her cat, Bonya, developed a “cautious friendship” with these feathery residents.

Bonya finds the coop to be a cozy and quiet place, often sneaking into the nesting boxes for a nap. Recently, one of the hens laid eggs in one of these boxes, but that didn’t deter Bonya. Rather than avoiding the spot, Bonya took it upon themself to become the main incubator for the eggs!

Olga shared a video of this adorable situation, showing the cat and hen appearing to “share” the nesting box. Bonya, ever persistent, squeezes into the box despite the chicken’s obvious disapproval. There’s even a moment where both the cat and the chicken manage to nestle in the same box together!

Despite the unconventional arrangement, things seem to be going surprisingly well. In a follow-up video, Olga captured the hatching of the first egg. The duo now appears to be sharing the role of co-parenting these little ones like pros.

Sadly, this seems to have been a disturbing pattern that must be addressed. To protect future animals and provide him with the support he needs, he must be banned from ever owning animals again and undergo mandatory counseling.

How sweet are these two? It will be fascinating to see how Bonya reacts as “their” chicks grow up!
