You’ve likely heard the phrase, “fighting like cats and dogs,” which implies that these two animals can’t get along.
However, this belief isn’t always accurate. With proper training, cats and dogs can become great friends. Still, like any siblings, they sometimes get on each other’s nerves.
If you grew up with siblings, you know how irritating they could be at times. Of course, there were wonderful moments too, but you get the point. Some siblings even did gross things like giving wet willies or burping in your face. I can still picture myself shouting, “MOM!!”
Every now and then, you have to stand up for yourself, right? In the video below, a cat is upset with her doggie sibling’s gross behavior. Rather than running to their owner, the cat decides to take matters into her own paws.
According to the American Kennel Club (AKC), dogs and cats aren’t natural enemies, but their differing behaviors can lead to conflicts. For instance, dogs have hunting instincts that make them want to chase moving objects, whether it’s a ball, a squirrel, or a house cat. Many cats run away when they see a dog, which can quickly cause issues. However, with early socialization or training, dogs and cats can develop strong bonds.
In the beginning of the video, the two pets are peacefully resting on the same bed. The dog is sound asleep, looking completely at ease, while the cat is lounging comfortably. Then, out of nowhere, the unexpected happens…
A loud fart breaks the silence. The cat immediately glares at the sleeping dog, as if certain who’s to blame for the rude interruption. You can almost read the cat’s thoughts: Seriously? I was relaxing, and you had to ruin it by being gross?
This cat isn’t one to just let it go. She decides to teach the dog a lesson for passing gas by “putting up her paws.” People online are loving the entire scene.
These poor kitties were rescued from an animal cruelty case where they were starved, locked in cages with inches of feces, and received no water or food. Now, these cats need your help!
A viewer named Kayleigh commented, “Omg I’m crying I watched this at least 10 times and it’s more funny than it was the first time.” Over 34 million people have watched this hilarious video, and it’s easy to see why. Everything from the cat’s expression to the dog’s reaction is truly amusing.
So, while cats and dogs can be great friends, they also have their funny and frustrating moments, much like any siblings.
