After A Terrible Accident Left Him Without Back Feet, Vet Gives Cat A New Lease On Life!

| September 5, 2015

This video shows the amazing story of Oscar, a cat who lost his back feet when he was run over by a combine harvester while sleeping in a field. Although he’s lucky to have survived the accident in the first place, we all know a stray cat with such a debilitating injury is likely to be euthanized and never adopted. But veterinary surgeon Noel Fitzpatrick had something else in mind. In a six-part series called Bionic Vet on the Smithsonian Channel, we see Dr. Fitzpatrick go above and beyond and give Oscar foot implants. Even more amazing, Oscar acts like he never lost his rear feet at all and wants to run and jump around like a typically cat as soon as he wakes up from surgery.

Medical science has grown a tremendous amount and it’s absolutely incredible the things we can accomplish in both humans and animals. With his new feet, Oscar has a completely new lease on life and is practically guaranteed a forever home. He’ll never even know he was injured.
