Ollie, a “Meezer” of Distinction
Ollie, short for Oliver Hardy, and her celebrity dad first met in 2003 when Jonathon Ross gifted Gervais the tiny kitten on an episode of his television show. Gervais had recently lost his cat Colin when Ross surprised him with little Ollie. Upon watching the clip, one can see the instant connection between dad and his new fur baby. Fallon is shown too, with glistening eyes and a happy smile, saying the baby is “gorgeous”.
They’ve been a been tightly bonded family ever since that first on-air meeting.
Gervais often shared photos of Ollie on his media platforms for his 14 million fans to see. Ollie and Gervais made a dynamic duo of funny with posts like this one on how to make “a furry space hopper”.
The pair also crusaded for animal rights together. Beyond his comedic ways, Gervais is known for being an outspoken advocate for our furred, feathered, and scaled friends.
And while Ollie enjoyed her appearances on her dad’s feed, the “smart, funny, feisty, beautiful” kitty darling also has her own Twitter feed with over 66k followers. Her bio reports, “I’M 3/8 BURMESE, 1/8 SIAMESE, 1/4 CORNISH REX, 1/4 DEVON REX, 1/2 ENGLISH, 1/4 FRENCH CANADIAN,1/4 IRISH & 100% CAT! TELL ME I’M A GOOD GIRL!”
Oh Ollie, you’re the best girl!
