Officer’s Routine Traffic Stop Leads To A Heartwarming Kitten Rescue

It was a lucky day for a kitten and the driver who was bending the law when Officer McGuire pulled someone over for a routine traffic stop!

The policeman was parked on the side of the road when a tiny kitten caught his eye. He decided that the fluffball’s life took priority over a minor traffic violation, so he let the driver go (for which she seemed incredibly grateful), and proceeded with his heroic rescue!

“Without hesitation, McGuire walked towards the kitten – careful not to scare it into traffic,” the Henrico County Police Department recounted on their Facebook page.

Lucky for us, his body cam captured the whole thing on tape, including the ever-so-sweet way he tries to comfort the scared baby!

“I gotta buckle up with ya!” the big-hearted officer says to the kitten, after affectionately calling it “Bubby.”

It’s no surprise that the video has been popular on the department’s Facebook page, garnering hundreds of comments from fellow cat lovers.

The Henrico Police Department reported that the kitten was taken to the Henrico County Animal Shelter to be given a check-up and cared for until it’s ready for adoption!

Unsurprisingly, many commenters expressed interest in welcoming the kitty into their family… and also asked about “adopting” the baby’s handsome rescuer!

One person suggested that Officer McGuire take the kitty home himself, but the police department responded, “He said he would love to, but doesn’t think his dog would approve. :(”

We know this lucky kitten will find the purrfect forever home at the right time, and we’re so glad that this kind policeman went out of his way to save a little life!
