A simple act of kindness has made a world of difference for one stray cat – and the 6 little stowaways she happened to be carrying in her belly!

Belle was abandoned to survive a cold Canadian winter when her owner moved away. Luckily, a neighbor was kind enough to give her shelter, but soon noticed that the little cat looked a bit…pregnant.

Wanting the best for the kitty and her soon-to-be family, the good Samaritan decided to entrust their care to the professionals at the Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS). The expectant mom was placed with an experienced foster family who named her Belle after Disney’s Beauty and the Beast.

2 days after Christmas Belle gave birth to 6 healthy kittens, each pure black and the spitting image of their mama! The four boys are named Chip, Walt, Sulton and Maurice, while the gals are dubbed Cogsworth and Babette – all Beauty and the Beast/Disney-related names.

Belle’s foster family certainly doesn’t mind having 6 messy, noisy fuzzballs to take care of. They are seasoned pros with plenty of experience helping kitties in need through the LAPS Foster Kittens program. Here is their foster sis introducing them one by one!

The more they grow, the more their little personalities come out, helping their rescuers to tell them apart.

Sultan is a boisterous eater…and a tad messy!

Cogsworth, on the other hand, is a meticulous groomer who insists on always looking – and smelling – her best. She was also the runt of the litter, but doesn’t let that slow her down! In fact, she’s the fastest of the whole group!

Walt is ahead of his time – one of the first to pee in the big-boy litterbox and sample that weird kibble stuff.

Now that the babies are 6 weeks old and nearly ready for adoption, Belle is helping them to master all the fundamentals of being a cat – like napping, bathing, and of course, eating!
