A summer mystery is afoot, or should we say apaw...

While it’s not unusual for a cat to gift his mom with presents, usually a lizard or a bird, what proved unusual in this case were the gifts themselves.

Avery the cat has always gifted his mom, Sally Bell, with the usual cat fare from the wild. She shared, “He’s always been a hunter, bringing home mice and frogs and things like that.”

But this summer’s gifts now include goggles.

Yep, you read that right. Avery brings his mom children’s goggles for swimming.

The total count is now at eight pairs and Sally is flummoxed over their appearance.

Sally reported it was just one pair of goggles at first. But, the one pair turned into two more pairs within just a few days.

More kept appearing and Sally checked in with neighbors, but no one reported missing goggles.

Silly Avery doesn’t play with the goggles, instead he just leaves them for his mom. But he hasn’t given up his old gifting ways either. “The pair he brought home the other day had a dead mouse with them – two presents at once.”

Fabulous, a cat parent’s favorite!

Sally fears kids might be getting in trouble thanks to her boy’s antics, so she’s put notices out on social media. But no one has claimed any of the missing pairs and she’s only found laughter when it comes to her kitty’s caper!

Avery may mean the goggles as gifts, but he has to steal them before he can gift them. So, like many kitties, Avery is quite the cat burglar!
