Stray cats have it hard enough. But when pregnant or caring for kittens, these moms have it even harder. But cat lovers work hard every day to help these stray mothers find the comfort and security they and their kittens deserve.

And you, cat lover, are one of the good hearts helping to make a difference in the lives of cats. By simply purchasing adorable merchandise, you helped cats like Regina and her kittens find love, security, and forever homes.

Thanks to a partnership between iHeartCats.com and GreaterGood.org, every purchase made helps rescue facilities and shelters continue to save cats and kittens. Rescue Bank, a pet food distribution initiative in the GreaterGood family, has been keeping hungry bellies full for over a decade. To date, Rescue Bank has delivered over 275 million meals to shelters and rescues across the country.

Because Rescue Bank provides Los Gatos Foster Animals Cat Rescue with food donations, the rescue can feed all the Queen mothers and fuzzy kittens delivered to their care. Regina is one such mom cat and thanks to love and hard-working animal lovers, she and her kittens became a success story.

Regina and Her Surprise Jelly Beans

A cat alone and outside during winter, Regina found some comfort on a kind woman’s porch. There she stayed warm and fed, but this house wasn’t meant to be her forever home. She still had a little further to go and kittens to mother before getting there. But thanks to the kind woman and Los Gatos, her journey would be far more safe and secure.

Los Gatos shared, “When Regina was surrendered, it was during a winter storm this spring, and the lady was unsure if Regina was pregnant. After two vet visits and being told twice that she was not pregnant, I decided to wait and see.”

Gifted with an extra sense when it comes to felines, sometimes cat lovers just know what’s going on with a cat, no matter what else is said. And time proves the hunches correct.

“One Sunday morning, I got up to find five little fuzzy ‘jelly beans’ that had been born during the night. Regina was so proud of her new possessions she didn’t want to share!”

More Food, More Lives Saved

And as Los Gatos knows, when it comes to kittens, when it rains, it pours.

“The very next day, an orphan kitten was found in a freezing cold barn so Regina is fostering her own foster too! What a good momma.”

She is indeed! And thanks to the love of Los Gatos Foster Animals Cat Rescue, Regina got the chance to be a good momma. The Rescue Bank donations also helped Los Gatos save multiple feline families.

“Along with Regina and her six little kittens, I am also able to help four other nursing moms with babies! The Rescue Bank helps me foster more affordably with good quality food and plenty of it!”
