Although it might sound crazy to us, not all people are naturally drawn to cats. Some people just don’t see the beauty in them like we do, or may feel more of a connection to dogs. That is, until the right cat comes along to convert them to the feline kind! This man was just going about his day when he suddenly heard some rather strange sounds coming from behind a dumpster as he was walking along. When he went to check the sounds, he discovered a tiny white kitten all alone and afraid. He picked the kitten up, and suddenly he noticed something was a bit different. This poor kitten was completely deaf.

This once non-cat lover was instantly converted, knowing that this helpless kitten really needed someone to love her and accept her. “She does not react to any noise whatsoever. When she’s sleeping or awake. It’s pretty noticeable,” he said. “(Her deafness) actually makes me like her more for some reason? Maybe I just feel she needs someone.” The man took her in, had her seen by the vet, and gave her the love she so desperately needed. He may have never thought that he’d even have a cat, but now he couldn’t imagine a life without this little kitten he named Sophie by his side. Since then, he’s keeping her indoors and has her on high-calorie food to bulk up her malnourished frame. For a guy who said he didn’t particularly like cats, he certainly has us fooled! He’s one great and caring cat dad.
